working on my dumb c.v. bio statement, ugh...

Sari Grove, rambles... I like to work from 'Zeitgeist', which means 'TimeGhost'...this translates to catching what is in the moment...My actual style of laying down the subject is helped by cubist philosophy...meaning that I am not uncomfortable showing the same object from several different perspectives (which often happens when someone is moving), all on the same canvas...automatist method liberates me from being too specific - stream of consciousness painting, so to speak, is said to be at times potentially revelatory ...I use gorgeous fabulous materials & I am green in terms of how much I produce...the word fine in "fine art" means something to me...
I went to many schools...T.F.S.(0-6), U.T.S.(diploma1984), Sarah Lawrence College(84-1985), York University(85), Atkinson College(86), McGill University(B.A.86-1989), Harvard University, University of Toronto, Ryerson Polytechnical University, Humber College...I am collected by good people from honest companies, selectively, internationally, & am not widely available nor ubiquitous...

I was born in 1966 in Toronto ...My grandfather & great uncle, Lou & Nat Turofsky of Alexandra Studios were sports photographers whose work can be seen at The Hockey Hall of Fame (Turofsky Collection hhof.com)...My father was a neuro-ophthalmologist, my mother owns a wine agency...My brother studied photography at Ryerson University & The Banf School of Fine Arts...My husband Joseph is an excellent painter...

feel free to Google Sari Grove or GroveCanada for links... Charitable & Group Shows

every year unsold paintings get donated to various charitable auctions, in the interest of quietness, these need not be mentioned...

Joseph Grove will come up with something pithy one of these days...with a double honours B.A. in philosophy & comparative literature from the tough University of Toronto (1996) & a lifetime of helping to raise six developmentally disabled adoptive siblings, not including his biological family, Joseph brings the unique & weathered perspective of someone who has "been there"...his parents ran the Adoption Council of Canada, & were the first Canadian family to adopt a child with Down's Syndrome...this kind of sensitivity translates beautifully to this artist's subject matter...
